— Bespoke Furniture · By Hand · By Design

Objects made
to last.
Designed
with intention.

Every piece of furniture we make begins with a conversation and ends with an object that carries the memory of both the wood it was made from and the person it was made for.

Bespoke furniture by The Deccan Furniture Company
— 一 · Material
Wood as Memory
We work with teak, sheesham, walnut, and locally sourced timber. Every grain tells a story. We read it before we cut it.
— 二 · Method
Joinery Over Hardware
Where possible, we use traditional joinery — mortise and tenon, dovetail, lap joints. Furniture held together by craft, not just screws.
— 三 · Meaning
Function First
A chair must be sat in. A table must be gathered around. We design for use, not for the photograph — though the photograph usually follows.

Sheesham dining table
01
The Dakkhan Dining Table
Sheesham · Natural Oil Finish · Hand-planed

A long table designed for gathering. The legs are turned by hand; the top is single-slab sheesham, oiled and left to breathe. Seats ten without crowding.

Teak reading chair
02
The Reading Chair
Teak · Danish Cord Weave · Mortise & Tenon

Proportioned for the human body at rest. The angle of the back, the depth of the seat — each dimension was arrived at through sitting, not calculation.

Walnut low console
03
Low Console — Walnut
Black Walnut · Wax Finish · Dovetail Joints

A console that sits low and long, designed to anchor a room without dominating it. The dovetail joints at the corners are left visible — they are the detail.

Study desk natural timber
04
The Study Desk
Local Timber · Brass Hardware · Live Edge

Built for focus. A deep worksurface, a slender frame, and a single drawer — enough to hold what needs to be held. The live edge reminds you where the material came from.

Bedroom wardrobe teak
05
The Wardrobe
Teak · Handwoven Cane Panels · Recessed Handles

A wardrobe that recedes into the room rather than demanding attention from it. Cane panels allow breath; the joinery allows a lifetime of opening and closing.

Bedside table solid wood
06
Bedside Companion
Sheesham · Copper Inlay · Hand-finished

Small in scale, considered in every dimension. A drawer, a shelf, a surface — three things, well made. Copper inlay on the handle catches the morning light quietly.

— Our Process
01
Conversation
Every commission begins with listening. We learn how you live before we draw a single line.
02
Material Selection
We visit the timber yard together if possible. The wood chooses the piece as much as we do.
03
Design Development
Drawings, models, samples. We refine until the proportion feels inevitable.
04
Craft & Delivery
Made by hand, finished with care, delivered and placed by us.

A piece of furniture
should outlast its maker.

We make bespoke furniture for homes, offices, clinics, and hospitality spaces across Pune and beyond. Every commission is unique — sized, detailed, and finished to the specific needs of the space and the person.

Lead times vary between 6 to 14 weeks depending on the complexity of the piece and the availability of material. We work with a small number of commissions at a time, so that every piece receives the attention it deserves.
