Design starts before cure. We finished Joint Aura Polyclinic in June 2024, at the beginning of the monsoon, when the air in Pune turns softer and everything feels briefly forgiven.
Hospitals usually begin with illness. This one begins with light. When you enter, there is no sharpness. The ceiling does not press down; it drifts. The corridors do not rush you forward; they allow you to arrive.
Human-centric design, for us, meant designing for the unseen: the hesitation before a diagnosis, the silence between two difficult sentences, the fragile hope people carry in their palms. In the 21st century, healthcare and hospitality share the same responsibility — to care.
